Description

Timber Secondary Beam to Steel Beam Angle Connection

Detailed structural CAD drawing for a Timber Secondary Beam to Steel Beam Angle Connection. This is a commonly used structural detail for when designing for hybrid composite structures with both steel and timber members.

Connection is established with the use of two steel angles on both sides of the timber beam. Angles are L200x150x12mm dimensions and are welded to the IPE300 steel beam web with a fillet weld all around. Timber beam is fastened with 4 full through bolts. Timber beam is spaced at a distance from the steel beam web to provide flexibility and moment release at the joint. This is a simple beam connection.
