UPN Channel X Bracing Corner Connection Detail
This is a CAD dwg drawing with a UPN Channel X Bracing Corner Connection Detail. When lateral bracing of steel frames is done with UPN channel profile sections, a connection at the start of the bracing is essential in ensuring moment release ( so that moments are not transferred into the bracing members ) since they are designed to carry only axial forces.
X-bracing corner connection with single UPN200 channel profile. Detail can be easily transformed to match any design criteria and sizing.
This is a bolted connection between the bracing member and plates on the corner of the frame between an I-section ( parallel flange ) beam and HEB ( wide flange ) section column.
Connection has to be done on site, therefore connection between the bracing member and the frame steel members is done with bolts and plates.
