Steel Frame Dry Wall Exterior Detail
A Typical Steel Frame Dry Wall Exterior Detail (external) with fireproof board on the inside ( if needed – otherwise you can use regular gypsum board ), OSB timber board sub layer, galvanized steel studs, fireglass mesh rendering on the outside, breathing membrane and interior mineral wool insulation.
The wall cross section is a thick 240mm wall with double steel galvanized studs and 40mm void in middle providing extra thermal and sound insulation. Detail can also be manipulated to reduce the overall thickness to 200mm by eliminating the center void or even for 100mm thick wall with one single line of steel studs.
