Simple Secondary Beam Connection to Steel Floor Truss
Simple Secondary Beam Connection to Steel Floor Truss. (no moment resistance).
Small IPE-section profile beam connected to the web of a larger supporting top truss chord HEB-section beam with double angles, with flash-level top flanges (same elevation).
Simple connection (no theoretical moment resistance). Double angles connected to small IPE-section with either bolts or shop fillet welding and with bolts on the web of the larger supporting top truss chord beam.
Secondary beams ( usually as floor support purlins, decking support ) at shorter intervals ( spacing ) connected to a larger or same size primary beam. Simple connection releasing moment forces and distributing all vertical shear loads directly onto the primary beam’s web.
