This is a CAD dwg drawing of a Stepped Reinforced Concrete Mat Spread Foundation Detail. Mat spread foundation can change elevation level but with proper reinforcement detailing to ensure continuity of the foundation slab and forces.
Bets practice is to use a foundation beam at the line where the elevation changes, make the beam’s depth high enough to receive both sides of the spread foundation as well as provide a smooth transition between the two levels with a 45 degree angles knee support in order to avoid sudden changes in forces.
