Basement Retaining Wall with Eccentric Footing

Typical CAD drawing detail of a concrete retaining wall supporting basement slab with eccentric footing

Basement Retaining Wall with Eccentric Footing

CAD dwg drawing detail for a Basement Retaining Wall with Eccentric Footing. Constant width reinforced concrete retaining wall, with an eccentric footing supporting top floor’s concrete slab on top. The retaining wall has been designed as a fully underground basement floor supporting soil for its’ complete floor height.

Wall acts as a support both for the basement floor slab as well as the exterior soil. Since wall is laterally braced both on top ( from slab ) and bottom from the foundation, it is actually acting as two-way slab supporting the soil loads. Changing slightly the height of the floor will not affect the dimensioning and reinforcement of the wall unless changed significantly.

Great detail to have ready to use with every reinforced concrete building with a basement.

  • foundation reinforcement
  • top & bottom mesh reinforcement
  • main tension & compression wall reinforcement
  • longitudinal and transverse reinforcement
  • foundation sub layers
